There are a handful of terms that are helpful to know when getting started with Physie.
A session is a live workout you start in Physie. Any time you’re actively using Physie to record your workout’s progress, you’re in a session.
An activity represents something that you can track or perform, and drives the metrics system behind Physie. When you’re creating your own exercises, selecting the appropriate activity allows you to input the most relevant metrics.
For example, the Banded Reps activity will prompt for which resistance band used instead of a weight.
An exercise is the smallest building block in Physie. They can be a specific movement like Bench Press, Push-Up, or Squat Jump, or an activity like Foam Rolling.
Each exercise is assigned an activity, and will have individualized metrics as such.
A circuit is a group of exercises performed in the same block. There can be many variations of circuits, but the biggest difference is the order exercises are performed.
If you had two exercises in a workout, you’d do them in order:
3 sets of Bench Press → 3 sets of Pull-ups
With a circuit, they would be performed with one set of each:
1 set of Bench Press → 1 set of Pull-ups → 1 set of Bench Press → …
A workout is a full training plan that brings together warmups, circuits, and exercises into one cohesive structure.
It defines what you’ll do in a single session — from start to finish — and can be reused or customized over time.
